At Cooperative Response Center (CRC), our technology powers critical communications for utility and emergency response organizations across the country. As our Software Development & Support Manager, you’ll lead a talented team responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting the software that keeps our members connected 24/7.

What You’ll Do
As the leader of our Software Development & Support team, you’ll:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Software Developers, Software Engineers, and Programmers.
- Drive the development, enhancement, and support of CRCLink and other enterprise applications.
- Guide projects from concept through implementation while keeping timelines, budgets, and quality on track.
- Champion secure, reliable, and scalable software development practices.
- Partner with business leaders, utility members, and vendors to turn business needs into innovative technology solutions.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance applications, processes, and development tools.
- Help shape CRC’s technology strategy as a member of the Management Team.

- Enjoys solving problems and driving continuous improvement., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years of software development experience.
- Three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience leading technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), application architecture, databases, and modern development methodologies.
- Ability to reside within reasonable proximity of a CRC office.
Preferred education and experience
- Master’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience within the utility or rural electric industry.
- Experience with Microsoft development technologies and enterprise application environments.
- Knowledge of version control, deployment automation, testing frameworks, reporting systems, and project management tools.
- Experience supporting enterprise business applications and integrations., * Demonstrated leadership courage, ownership, sound judgment, follow-through, and willingness to communicate difficult truths early and constructively.
- Strong coaching, employee development, performance management, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
- Thorough knowledge of the software development lifecycle, modern engineering practices, product and platform delivery, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Sufficient technical depth to evaluate development approaches, delivery estimates, dependencies, architecture, databases, integrations, testing strategies, security risks, root causes, and proposed remedies.
- Ability to understand complex systems, identify constraints and bottlenecks, separate symptoms from root causes, and improve end-to-end flow.
- Ability to define meaningful measures, use evidence in decisions, and improve predictability without encouraging metric manipulation or unnecessary bureaucracy.
- Ability to balance planned delivery, platform reliability, technical debt, security, support demand, team health, and stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills, including concise executive-level risk and status communication.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work amid competing priorities, operational demands, technical uncertainty, and significant stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to build trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders while maintaining clear decision rights and accountability.
- Commitment to secure, reliable, maintainable, high-quality solutions that produce measurable business and member outcomes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and model CRC values.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common development, source control, work management, testing, deployment, monitoring, and reporting tools.
