Job description

Diversity Health and Social Care is seeking an experienced and proactive IT Support Officer to provide day-to-day technical support across the organisation’s office operations.

The role will be responsible for delivering first-line and second-line IT support to office-based staff, ensuring reliable operation of hardware, software, business systems, user accounts, and devices. The postholder will support the organisation’s digital systems and infrastructure while contributing to cyber security, compliance, and continuous service improvement.

This role is critical in supporting the smooth running of the organisation’s services and reducing operational dependency on a single IT resource., 1. IT Support and Helpdesk

Provide day-to-day technical support to staff across all office locations including:

  • Desktop and laptop troubleshooting
  • Printer and scanner support
  • Microsoft 365 support
  • Password resets and account support
  • Network and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Email configuration and troubleshooting
  • Mobile device support
  • Meeting room / Teams setup support

Respond to and resolve IT incidents promptly while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Escalate complex issues to the IT Manager/Digital Transformation Manager where appropriate.

  1. User Device Management

Support setup, deployment and maintenance of: laptops; desktop pcs; mobile phones; tablets; printers; office peripherals.

Responsibilities include: new starter setup; leaver account offboarding; equipment replacement; asset tracking; device configuration; hardware troubleshooting.

Maintain accurate inventory of all IT equipment.

  1. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Administration

Provide support for: Microsoft 365; Microsoft Azure; Microsoft Teams; Microsoft Outlook

Tasks include: user account creation and management; permissions management; shared mailbox administration; Teams and SharePoint support; password resets and MFA support

  1. Business Application Support

Provide support for core operational systems including:

Carefree and other internal care management applications.

Assist staff with: login access; troubleshooting user issues; browser compatibility; device access support.

Work with software vendors where needed to resolve technical issues.

  1. IT Security and Compliance Support

Support organisational compliance with: Cyber Essentials; DSP Toolkit; ISO standards; GDPR and Data Protection requirements

Responsibilities include: applying updates and patches; supporting antivirus and endpoint protection; device security checks; access reviews; password policy enforcement; secure device handling.

Report security risks or incidents immediately.

  1. Documentation and Process Improvement

Maintain accurate records for: support tickets; device inventory; licences; setup guides; troubleshooting procedures; IT documentation.

Assist with developing IT processes and user guidance.

Contribute to improving IT service delivery and efficiency.

  1. Site and User Support

Provide support across the organisation’s office locations as required.

Occasional travel between offices may be required to: install equipment; resolve onsite issues; support office moves or system rollouts., Success in this role will be measured through:

  • timely resolution of support tickets
  • user satisfaction and responsiveness
  • reduction in IT downtime
  • accurate device and asset management
  • contribution to IT security and compliance
  • effective support of staff across all office locations

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, Essential

  • Previous experience in an IT Support / Service Desk / Desktop Support role
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Knowledge of printers, networking, Wi-Fi and device setup
  • Experience with user account administration
  • Good understanding of cyber security best practice
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to prioritise workload independently
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical staff

Desirable

  • Experience working in health or social care
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of Cyber Essentials or ISO environments
  • Experience supporting care software such as Carefree
  • Understanding of GDPR / Data Protection
  • Microsoft certifications or relevant IT qualifications
