Job description
We are seeking a GIS Technician Analyst to support electrical infrastructure and engineering projects. This position will focus on reviewing, updating, and performing quality control on technical drawings, plans, and layouts related to electrical distribution infrastructure., * Review, interpret, and work with technical drawings, engineering plans, layouts, and construction drawings.
- Perform QA/QC of detailed drawings, plans, and layouts to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Create, update, and review 2D and 3D models of electrical structures, components, and systems.
- Incorporate design changes, modifications, and redlines into existing drawings.
- Review calculations, measurements, and drafting details to ensure drawing accuracy.
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable industry standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Work with engineering and project teams to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Support the development and maintenance of geographic and infrastructure data.
- Review electrical distribution and underground utility information, including conduits and manholes.
- Assist with the As-Built backlog remediation project.
- Communicate technical information clearly and effectively with engineers, designers, and project stakeholders.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience with CAD software, particularly GTECH and MicroStation Connect, and a strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and underground utility infrastructure., * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- 1-5 years of relevant experience in GIS, CAD, electrical design, engineering support, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with GTECH/GTech and MicroStation Connect.
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and electrical grid infrastructure.
- Experience working with underground electrical facilities, including conduits and manholes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering designs, layouts, technical drawings, and construction plans.
- Experience with drawing QA/QC and reviewing designs for accuracy.
- Understanding of engineering calculations, measurements, and drafting standards.
- Experience with 2D and 3D modeling.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
