Job description
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of advanced radar capabilities within a complex, real-time combat systems environment. This role focuses on the design, development, integration, optimization, and testing of mission-critical radar software operating across distributed, multi-processor computing architectures.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience developing modern C++ applications in Linux environments and possesses a strong foundation in software engineering principles, object-oriented design, real-time systems, and performance optimization. Candidates with experience supporting radar systems, sensor processing, signal processing, missile defense, tracking systems, or other defense-related applications are highly preferred.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to advanced radar capabilities supporting national defense missions. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain real-time radar software utilizing modern C++.
- Develop software solutions for distributed and multi-processor computing environments.
- Implement and optimize algorithms supporting radar control, tracking, sensor processing, and data management functions.
- Analyze software performance and implement improvements to throughput, latency, and computational efficiency.
- Support GPU acceleration efforts using CUDA or similar parallel computing technologies where applicable.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot software defects and support root cause analysis activities across integrated systems.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, integration teams, test engineers, and program leadership throughout the software lifecycle.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including software designs, interface definitions, test procedures, and engineering reports.
- Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, peer reviews, and technical demonstrations.
- Support software integration, verification, validation, and customer testing events.

- Experience using Git, GitLab, or similar version control systems.
- Experience with software debugging, profiling, and performance optimization.
Technical Skills
- Experience developing real-time or near real-time software applications.
- Knowledge of multi-threaded, distributed, or multi-processor systems.
- Experience creating automated test solutions and software verification frameworks.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using Python and/or MATLAB for algorithm development, prototyping, simulation, or data analysis.
Security
- Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to maintain clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting AEGIS, SPY radar systems, missile defense systems, or other advanced sensor platforms.
- Radar, signal processing, sensor fusion, tracking, or fire-control software experience.
- Experience with GPU computing and CUDA development.
- Experience working with large-scale defense systems and hardware/software integration.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), DOORS, or requirements traceability processes.
- Experience using Google Test, CTest, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, or similar automated testing tools.
- Knowledge of networking, real-time operating systems, and high-performance computing architectures.
- Prior military or defense industry experience.
