Job description

Appleberry Foods Ltd is seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Manager to lead and manage the company’s technology infrastructure, software platforms, cloud systems, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our AWS cloud environment, software development projects, database management, API integrations, cybersecurity, and technology operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to design and maintain scalable systems that support a rapidly growing business.

The IT Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the security, reliability, efficiency, and scalability of the organisation’s technology environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Cloud Management

  • Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and associated services.
  • Design, implement, and support scalable cloud-native solutions.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, security, and reliability.
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Implement system monitoring, logging, backup, and alerting solutions.

Software Development & Systems Management

  • Oversee development and maintenance of internal and customer-facing platforms.
  • Manage applications built using PHP Laravel and Python.
  • Support scalable microservice architecture and API-driven systems.
  • Ensure best practices for software development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Coordinate software releases and system upgrades.

Database Administration

  • Manage MySQL and PostgreSQL database environments.
  • Monitor database performance and optimise system efficiency.
  • Implement backup, replication, and recovery procedures.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.

API Integrations & Automation

  • Manage integrations with third-party systems including delivery platforms, payment providers, EPOS systems, suppliers, and logistics partners.
  • Develop and maintain automation processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support real-time inventory, catalogue, and order management systems.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage cybersecurity risks across the organisation.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediation plans.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and information security requirements.

Project & Team Management

  • Lead IT projects from planning through implementation.
  • Work closely with management and operational teams to deliver technology solutions.
  • Manage external suppliers, software vendors, and technology partners.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams.
  • Train users on systems and technology improvements where required.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, * Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IT Manager, Senior Systems Administrator, Solutions Architect, or similar leadership role.

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • PHP Laravel
  • Python
  • MySQL
  • PostgreSQL
  • AWS Cloud Services
  • Experience designing and managing scalable architectures and microservices.
  • Strong understanding of REST API development and integrations.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure management and deployment.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and DevOps principles.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
