#375- Cloud Solutions Architect - W2 Only - Local to NY

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect with strong expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing cloud strategies, governance frameworks, architecture standards, and hybrid or multi-cloud solutions.

The architect will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and engineering groups to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures. This role may involve guiding engineering teams, providing technical leadership, and supplementing existing technical capabilities.

A strong foundation in on-premises infrastructure is essential to support hybrid-cloud integrations and migration initiatives. The organization is also expanding its Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) capabilities., Cloud Architecture & Governance

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and highly available OCI cloud architectures.
• Establish cloud architecture standards, governance models, frameworks, and best practices.
• Develop hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud architecture strategies.
• Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate business requirements into effective cloud solutions.
• Contribute to product architecture, technology roadmaps, and architecture assessments.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation using Visio, Abacus, or similar tools.
• Guide engineering teams and provide technical leadership where required.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure & Enterprise Systems

• Demonstrate extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and enterprise cloud environments.
• Design, configure, and manage cloud servers and infrastructure environments.
• Perform infrastructure configuration, patching, system monitoring, backup management, and alerting.
• Support network and VLAN configuration within cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop OCI architecture patterns, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Support cloud migration initiatives and hybrid-cloud integrations.

Oracle Database & Infrastructure Technologies

Experience with the following technologies is highly desirable:

• Oracle Database Technologies: Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, RMAN, and database licensing.
• Oracle Platforms: Exadata, ExaCC, ExaDB-D, Exascale, DBaaS, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Architecture: High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and multi-cloud architecture.
• Operating Systems: Linux administration and network administration skills are a plus.
• Experience assessing product architecture, technology roadmaps, and infrastructure solutions.

Cloud Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code

• Support the expansion and implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) capabilities.
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, and API/CLI automation tools.
• Develop repeatable and scalable cloud deployment processes.
• Improve infrastructure efficiency through automation and standardization.

SRE, DevOps & Observability

• Implement cloud DevOps practices and infrastructure automation solutions.
• Support monitoring, observability, and system performance management.
• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to cloud environments.
• Establish and maintain SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
• Configure monitoring, alerting, and operational processes to ensure system reliability.

Cloud Security, Resilience & Emerging Technologies

• Design secure cloud environments aligned with organizational security standards.
• Implement cloud security best practices across OCI and hybrid-cloud environments.
• Develop High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
• Support secure multi-cloud architecture initiatives.
• Apply cloud architecture patterns and modern cloud best practices.
• Demonstrate proficiency in AI concepts and their application to cloud architecture and enterprise solutions.

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): 6-9 years of hands-on experience is required.
• AWS, Azure, and GCP: 1-2 years of experience with each cloud platform is preferred.
• Hybrid Infrastructure: 4-6 years of experience designing and managing hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Cloud Networking: 4-6 years of experience with cloud networking, network architecture, and VLAN configuration.
• Cloud DevOps & Automation: 4-6 years of experience with cloud automation, DevOps practices, and infrastructure provisioning.
• Cloud Security: 2-3 years of experience implementing cloud security practices and secure architecture solutions.
• Cloud FinOps: 1-2 years of experience with cloud cost optimization and financial management.
• Architecture Documentation: 2-3 years of experience creating architecture diagrams and technical documentation using Visio, Abacus, or similar tools.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms, cloud services, governance frameworks, architecture patterns, and industry best practices.

Proficiency in OCI is mandatory. The architect will primarily focus on developing architectures, standards, and governance models for the OCI platform. Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP will be beneficial for supporting multi-cloud initiatives.
