Job description

The OCI Lead Architect is responsible for defining and overseeing the endtoend architecture, security design, and technical strategy for a large-scale federal program operating across NonClassified, IL5, and IL6 environments. This role leads the design of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions that enable secure crossdomain data movement, advanced analytics, and AI capabilities while maintaining strict compliance with federal security requirements., The architect will provide technical leadership to engineering teams, serve as the primary technical interface with Oracle and the government customer, and ensure solutions align with DevSecOps best practices, mission needs, and accreditation standards. This position requires deep experience supporting federal programs and designing secure, scalable cloud architectures., * Lead the overall system architecture and technical design across NonClass, IL5, and IL6 environments.

  • Define OCI cloud architecture and security design in support of crossdomain data movement and mission operations.
  • Architect and guide solutions that enable secure data flows between classified and unclassified environments in alignment with federal cross-domain requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering and DevSecOps teams throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Design and oversee AI/ML solutions capable of analyzing multimodal datasets (e.g., text, imagery, signals, structured and unstructured data).
  • Ensure security architectures and implementations align with OWASP principles and federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Oversee implementation and integration of source code vulnerability scanning technologies within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Interface directly with Oracle, subcontractors, and government stakeholders to ensure technical alignment and issue resolution.
  • Support security authorization and compliance activities, including documentation and artifacts required for eMASS.
  • Ensure architectures align with federal standards, customer requirements, and largescale program constraints.

Requirements

  • Clearance requirement: U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Active U.S. Secret Clearance/T3 Background Investigation or higher preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 16 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of strong OCI specific experience
  • Extensive experience supporting largescale federal programs
  • Proven experience architecting and delivering secure cloud solutions in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Demonstrated expertise in crossdomain data movement and secure system integration.
  • Experience designing and implementing architectures that meet NonClass, IL5, and IL6 requirements.
  • Strong understanding of secure software development and federal compliance processes.
  • OCI Architect Professional Certification preferred, not required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Indepth knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) policies. Ability to write and build OCI policies, ability to get into granular components of OCI policy.
  • Strong knowledge in identity, networking, computing, and CLI. Ability to set up secure desktop.
  • Experience with Terraform preferred, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of crossdomain solutions and secure data transfer mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks and OWASP security models.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies and compliance-driven development.
  • Architecture and security design for missioncritical federal systems.
  • Designing AI/ML solutions that operate on multimodal datasets.
  • InfrastructureasCode development and automation.
  • Leading and mentoring engineering teams in complex technical environments.
  • Communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
