Software Engineer

A forward-thinking manufacturing organisation is seeking an IT Development Engineer to support and enhance its internal software systems and factory technologies. This is a varied role offering involvement across the full software lifecycle, from concept and development through to implementation and ongoing support.

You’ll work closely with both IT and operational teams to deliver solutions that improve efficiency, integration, and performance across the site. This role will be working 08.30 - 17.00, Monday to Friday.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, developing, and implementing software applications and factory systems
• Working across the full development lifecycle, including analysis, build, testing, and deployment
• Supporting and improving existing systems used within a manufacturing environment
• Providing third-line support for internally developed applications
• Collaborating with internal departments on IT and automation projects
• Supporting knowledge transfer and mentoring junior team members when required
• Assisting with system integration and continuous improvement initiatives

Do you have experience in Software development?, * Degree qualified in Software Development (or similar)

• Experience in software development or application support
• Knowledge of programming languages such as VB.Net or PHP
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Interest in systems used within manufacturing or production environments

Desirable:

• Experience with MySQL / database management
• Exposure to frameworks such as CodeIgniter
• Basic understanding of networks and server environments
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Around 1-2 years’ commercial IT experience
