Director of Technology (Contract)

We are looking for a highly capable Director of Technology (Contract) to take ownership of the company’s enterprise technology platform., The successful contractor will work closely with the founders, clients, and external partners, with significant autonomy and responsibility.

This contract role offers substantial scope to take ownership of an important technology platform, work directly with founders and clients, and shape the company’s enterprise technology as it grows. For the right person, there may be scope to extend the engagement or move into a longer-term role.

Responsibilities

• Own technical development and ongoing improvement of the enterprise platform.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable platform architecture.
• Develop core product features, administrative functionality, analytics, reporting, matching functionality, and client-facing functionality.
• Lead AI integration across the platform, including intelligent matching, workflow automation, content support, and appropriate use of LLMs.
• Manage AI models, API usage, token costs, third-party AI tools, and related technical safeguards.
• Manage API integrations, subscriptions, and third-party technical services.
• Oversee hosting, cloud infrastructure, backups, monitoring, logging, deployment, and performance.
• Implement testing, quality assurance, documentation, and release processes.
• Support client demonstrations, onboarding, and technical discussions.
• Lead written and video-call communications with prospective and current clients on technical matters.
• Lead technical input for procurement, security, and due diligence processes.
• Coordinate with external partners where required.
• Manage technical delivery timelines and communicate progress clearly., * Fully remote.

Do you have experience in System architecture?, Do you have a Master’s degree?, This is a hands-on senior role for someone with strong full-stack engineering experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to manage a platform to the standard expected by institutional clients., * 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Proven experience building, launching, maintaining, or leading SaaS platforms.
• Strong full-stack development capability.
• Experience with AI/LLM integrations, APIs, and modern AI development tools.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and production deployments.
• Experience with security, reliability, backups, and enterprise-readiness.
• Ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Experience communicating with prospective or current clients on technical questions, implementation, security, and product capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Flexibility to adjust working hours as needed to support client commitments, project deadlines, and business priorities.
