Job description
TND is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator - Tier III to join our technical team.
This is a hands-on position supporting a variety of customer environments and serving as an escalation resource for advanced technical issues involving servers, networking, Microsoft 365, virtualization, backups, security, and cloud technologies.
This is not an escalation-only position. While this role serves as a Tier III technical resource, the technician will also be expected to handle Tier I and Tier II responsibilities as customer and team needs require.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, takes ownership of problems, communicates well with customers, and works well as part of a technical team., * Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving workstations, servers, networks, Microsoft 365, cloud services, security systems, printers, and business applications.
- Serve as an escalation resource for complex technical issues and take ownership through resolution.
- Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Troubleshoot firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VLANs, VPNs, and general network connectivity.
- Support Hyper-V/VMware virtualization, backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery environments.
- Support endpoint security, EDR/antivirus, MFA, Conditional Access, and email security technologies.
- Participate in server and network upgrades, Microsoft 365 migrations, workstation deployments, customer onboardings, and other IT projects.
- Work with third-party vendors when necessary to troubleshoot customer applications and services.
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to other technicians.
- Maintain accurate ticket notes, technical documentation, procedures, and customer environment information.
- Provide onsite customer support when necessary.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional IT experience, preferably supporting business environments.
- 1-2 years of experience in a senior technical or Tier III role.
- MSP experience strongly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience independently resolving advanced technical issues.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Windows Server.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Exchange Online.
- Solid networking knowledge including TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless.
- Experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery technologies.
- Understanding of endpoint security, MFA, Conditional Access, and modern cybersecurity practices.
- Strong documentation, customer service, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tickets and customer priorities independently.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations throughout the Louisville area when necessary.
Preferred Experience
Industry certifications such as Microsoft or CompTIA.

You don’t need to know everything. You do need a strong technical foundation, the ability to research and troubleshoot unfamiliar problems, good judgment about when to ask for assistance, and a willingness to help the team., * System administration: 4 years (Required)
