Job description
The Manager of Senior Programming is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing all programs and activities serving older adults at Rosen JCC, including fitness classes, educational workshops, social events, wellness initiatives, and trips/outings. This role combines program design, staff/volunteer supervision, and community outreach to create a vibrant, inclusive environment for seniors., * Design, implement, and evaluate a diverse calendar of senior programs (recreational, educational, social, and wellness-focused)
- Recruit, train, and supervise program staff and volunteers
- Manage program budgets and track attendance/participation data
- Build partnerships with local health providers, senior services agencies, and community organizations
- Ensure programs meet the needs and interests of a diverse senior population, including those with mobility or cognitive limitations
- Handle member inquiries, feedback, and conflict resolution with professionalism and empathy
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and accessibility standards
- Promote programs through newsletters, social media, and community outreach
- Prepare reports on program outcomes for center leadership/board
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Gerontology, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience in program management, ideally with older adults
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers
- Knowledge of aging-related issues and best practices in senior programming
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency with basic office software; experience with program management or registration software a plus
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time, Monday-Friday with the ability to work occasional evening/weekend events
