Software Test Engineer

Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Software Test Engineer for a contract position in Stevenage. This role is integral in designing and developing test equipment software for cutting-edge missile systems and sub-components. Our client’s dynamic and innovative team across Europe drives advancements in defence technology., * Designing and developing test equipment software for complex missile systems and sub-components

• Collaborating with various teams and stakeholders across the organisation to deliver test software capabilities from early concepts to production
• Experimenting with new technologies and implementations to meet evolving customer requirements
• Implementing changes to improve software development practices both within the test software domain and the broader software community
• Embracing agile methodologies to deliver value and achieve a real sense of accomplishment
• Engaging with test equipment and electronic circuitry in a software engineering office/lab environment

• Experience in software engineering for the development of test solutions
• Proficiency in writing software in C/C++; familiarity with scripting languages is an advantage
• Experience working within an agile development team
• Understanding of creating high-quality software and supporting quality practices
• Familiarity with automation, continuous integration, and DevOps principles and practices
