Systems Consultant

·Provide 3rd line support for all issues escalated from 1st and 2nd line support teams. ·Provide 3rd line investigation and diagnosis, liaising with 3rd parties when required to ensure prompt resolution. ·Ensure systems are being monitored effectively and the monitoring process is documented and agreed. ·Support the technical approval process for all planned changes. Ensure that appropriate technical implementation plans, test plans, and contingency plans are in place and ensure that existing systems are not compromised by any proposed changes. ·Take ownership of the patch management of client’s infrastructure including compute devices, software and other hardware. ·Identify opportunities for improvement and candidates for automation. ·You will be a technology mentor for technical staff, contributing to their personal and technical development.

Our client is looking for a positive, forward-thinking team player, to join their Infrastructure Services Team as a 3rd line Systems Consultant. This role will involve working closely with Service Desk technicians and Professional Services engineers to address complex issues across a wide array of technologies. This role requires an individual who has: ·2 years of experience as a 3rd line engineer ·Advanced Knowledge of cloud solutions and the Microsoft stack. ·Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical colleagues. ·Ability to advise Account Managers on clients future IT needs., ·Minimum 2 years 2nd/3rd line / NOC experience within an MSP environment (essential). ·Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills. ·Strong understanding of and experience of Microsoft’s cloud offering including Office 365 and Azure. ·Strong understanding of and experience of virtualisation platforms. ·Comprehensive Microsoft stack knowledge. ·Good understanding of advanced networking concepts. ·Experience managing Firewalls/Routers/Storage. ·Demonstrable knowledge of backup/BC/DR concepts and products. Desirable: ·Automation and scripting knowledge. ·Experience with security products and the cyber threat landscape. ·Linux administration skills. ·Knowledge of non-Microsoft cloud platforms AWS, Google etc; ·Good understanding of VOIP solutions.
