Job description

We have invested in a new central datastore. Now we are looking for a Data Manager to help us make the most of it.

This is a hands-on technical role where you’ll improve data quality, strengthen governance and help colleagues access trusted insight to make better decisions.

Your work will support better reporting, stronger performance insight and improved outcomes for the people we support.

What you will be doing

  • Manage and develop Affinity Trust’s central datastore and wider data infrastructure.
  • Improve data quality, reliability, access and security.
  • Support the development of our data strategy and governance approach.
  • Translate reporting and business needs into clear technical solutions.
  • Oversee data flows, APIs, integrations and supplier delivery.
  • Help colleagues understand and use data with confidence.

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Strong experience in data infrastructure, data pipelines or enterprise data environments.

  • Good working knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Azure and data warehousing.
  • Experience with APIs, systems integration and secure data flows.
  • Understanding of data governance, quality standards, GDPR and information security.
  • Ability to turn business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Clear communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines.
  • A relevant qualification in data analytics, computer science, statistics or data engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A values-led approach, with a commitment to listening, learning, collaboration and trying new things.

About the company

At Affinity Trust, people are at the heart of everything we do. We support people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with other support needs to live the lives they choose.

In this role, your data expertise will help us improve insight, strengthen decision-making and build the data capability we need for the future.

Interested?

If you want a Data Manager role where your technical skills can make a meaningful difference, we’d love to hear from you.

We welcome different backgrounds and experiences, and we’re happy to discuss adjustments during the recruitment process.

If you are successful, your offer may be subject to a DBS check at the relevant level for the role. Affinity Trust will cover the cost of this check.
