Are you an experienced Design Engineer looking to work on innovative, bespoke engineering projects from concept through to production? Our client, a highly respected engineering manufacturer based in Diss, is looking for a talented and driven Design Engineer to join their busy and collaborative Design Office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking business where your ideas, technical expertise, and creativity will directly contribute to the development of exciting mechanical products and solutions.
The Role
Working within a skilled engineering team, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing high-quality products using SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT. This is a varied, hands-on position where no two projects are the same, offering the chance to work closely with multiple departments and see your designs brought to life.
Key Responsibilities

Create accurate 2D and 3D detail and assembly drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD LT.

Collaborate with Sales, Projects, Purchasing, Production, customers, and suppliers on technical requirements and solutions.

Produce Bills of Materials (BOMs), CE documentation, and O&M manuals.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to Production teams.

Attend site surveys and support installations when required.

Ensure all designs comply with Health & Safety standards and customer specifications.

Support projects from initial concept through to manufacture and installation.
Requirements
We’re looking for a proactive and motivated engineer who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:

Previous experience in a mechanical design engineering role (essential).

A Mechanical Engineering qualification (desirable).

Strong communication and organisational skills.

The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively to deadlines.

A professional, self-motivated, and solutions-focused approach.

Salary circa £46,000 depending on experience.

25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
