Job description

Lead the definition, implementation, and management of public cloud services (primarily Microsoft Azure), alongside existing on-premise IT services.

  • Develop and execute cloud migration strategies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams to identify and migrate suitable services from private to public cloud.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance automation routines, including automated remediation and incident response.
  • Define and support continuous integration (CI) pipelines for cloud deployments.
  • Work closely with development teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.
  • Manage and maintain ongoing deployment and operation of services in public cloud environments.
  • Assess, recommend, and implement toolsets for automation and public cloud adoption.
  • Define, document, and monitor agreed practices and approaches for public cloud utilization.
  • Establish strategic public cloud architecture according to industry best practices.
  • Implement policies and controls to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Deploy public cloud services to meet business and technical objectives of new initiatives.
  • Manage cloud-related costs, budgets, and optimize licensing models.
  • Collaborate with the InfoSec team to monitor security posture and recommend improvements.
  • Support and educate broader IT teams on existing PaaS solutions.
  • Contribute to new technology initiatives and strategic discussions regarding public cloud adoption.
  • Respond to and manage major incidents involving public cloud services, including out-of-hours support as needed.
  • Liaise with third-party license providers (e.g., Microsoft CSP) to optimize public cloud platform costs.
  • Develop dashboards to monitor security, policy compliance, and cost control.
  • Document all controls, processes, and procedures for public cloud operations.
  • Provide support, troubleshooting, and investigation to broader IT teams.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging cloud platforms and products for potential adoption.
  • Build and maintain relationships with service integrators, license partners, developers, TechOps, data services, application management, IT architecture, and project/program managers.
  • Direct and indirect responsibility for managing subscription costs, defining cost caps/budgets, and negotiating cost-effective license models.

Requirements

Essential Skills: Strong technical background in software development and/or infrastructure, experience with Microsoft Azure, scripting and automation skills, knowledge of Azure services, experience with enterprise service integrators, exposure to Kubernetes, and proven delivery of highly available public cloud deployments.

  • Desirable Skills: Experience with AWS/Google Cloud, end-to-end zero-touch cloud deployments, Azure DevOps CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, DynaTrace, ServiceNow, Ansible.
