Job description

  • Attend customer sites to diagnose and resolve IT issues.
  • Install and configure laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Set up new users, devices, and Microsoft 365 accounts.
  • Configure and manage Windows devices using Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, Wi-Fi, and connectivity issues.
  • Support Microsoft 365 migrations and customer onboarding projects.
  • Install and maintain endpoint security, monitoring, and backup solutions.
  • Monitor and manage customer devices using Kaseya Datto RMM.
  • Support Datto AV, Datto EDR, Microsoft Defender, and endpoint backup solutions.
  • Troubleshoot VPN and secure remote-access issues.
  • Assist with network equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Carry out PC replacements, upgrades, and user migrations.
  • Support printers, scanners, and other customer peripherals.
  • Escalate complex technical issues when required and work with senior engineers and third-party suppliers to resolve them.
  • Maintain accurate customer documentation, asset information, and technical records.
  • Provide clear updates to customers and internal teams throughout support cases and project work.
  • Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve or automate customer IT environments.

  • DevOps, We are Yellowcom, and we are looking for a proactive, customer-focused Field IT Engineer to join our growing IT and Modern Workplace team. This hands-on role involves supporting customers across Northern Ireland and, where required, other locations across the UK and Ireland, with regular visits to customer sites. Requirements

  • Previous experience in IT support, field engineering, desktop support, or an MSP environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows PCs and laptops, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online.
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, user accounts, MFA, and permissions.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Intune and device management.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPNs, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple support requests, and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • Comfortable travelling to customer sites and moving between different customer environments.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Beneficial experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Defender, Kaseya Datto RMM, Datto AV and EDR, endpoint backup, Kaseya IT Glue, Autotask PSA, Spanning Backup, PowerShell, Microsoft 365 migrations, network installation and troubleshooting, Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Microsoft certifications such as MD-102, MS-102, or AZ-104 are beneficial but not essential.
  • Professional, approachable, technically curious, willing to learn, and organised.
