Cloud Engineer

Deploy and configure Azure services including Compute, Storage, Networking, and Identity.

• Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Design, deploy, and operate cloud networking solutions.
• Provide out-of-hours or on-call support as required.

DevOps & Automation

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) primarily with Terraform; promote and coach its adoption across IT development teams.
• Automate operational tasks and cloud environment provisioning.

Security & Compliance

• Build platforms with a security-first approach, applying Azure security best practices (RBAC, encryption, monitoring).
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as ISO 27001 and GDPR.

Monitoring & Optimisation

• Configure and manage monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Dynatrace).
• Optimise resource usage and manage cloud cost efficiency.

Collaboration

• Collaborate with development and Cyber Security teams for cloud-native application deployments.
• Provide technical guidance and create documentation for stakeholders.
• Work closely with IT Developers, QA Engineers, Infrastructure Design teams, Tech Resilience, Cost Optimisation Managers, Transformation team, 3rd parties (e.g., Microsoft, Fujitsu).

Budget Responsibility

• No direct or indirect budget management responsibilities.

Professional Azure certifications (AZ 900, AZ 104, AZ 500, AZ 305, AZ 400) or equivalent demonstrable experience.

• (Desirable) Experience in Financial Services or Debt Purchasing market.
• Technical expertise in:
• Azure IaaS/PaaS
• Terraform
• CI/CD (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)
• Containerisation (AKS)
• Security & Identity management (AZ-500 level)
• Azure networking (patterns, firewalls, routing)
• Monitoring & Observability (App Insights, Log Analytics, Dynatrace)
• Incident management and problem resolution (minimising impact, managing workarounds/known errors)
