Wayman Education is working with an Independent Secondary School in Westminster to recruit a reliable and technically capable IT Technician. The school is committed to providing a modern learning environment where technology supports teaching, learning and day-to-day administration.
The successful candidate will join a supportive team responsible for maintaining the school’s IT systems and ensuring staff and pupils can access the technology they need throughout the school day.
The Role
The IT Technician will provide technical support across the school, helping to maintain computer equipment, networks, software and classroom technology.
The main responsibilities will include providing first-line technical support to teaching and support staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving printer and connectivity problems, and setting up computers, laptops, projectors and interactive classroom equipment.
The successful candidate will assist with maintaining school networks and IT systems, installing and updating software, managing IT equipment and keeping accurate inventory records. They will also support user accounts, passwords, access permissions, online learning platforms and school management systems.
Additional duties will include reporting recurring technical issues, escalating more complex problems where necessary, helping to maintain data security and providing guidance to staff and pupils on the effective use of school technology., The school offers a full-time, permanent opportunity within an established educational environment. Requirements
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an IT support or technical support role, alongside a good understanding of Windows operating systems and common software applications. Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate technical information clearly are essential.
The school is looking for someone who is organised, patient and proactive, with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond to technical issues promptly. An understanding of confidentiality, data protection and online safety would also be beneficial.
