Job DescriptionJob Title: Junior Design EngineerDuration: Temp to Perm (3-6 month starting contract)Location: Onsite in DurhamRate/Salary: Hourly rate open to discussion; the salary is from £30,000 a yearJunior Design Engineer OverviewWe are recruiting on behalf of a growing engineering and manufacturing business for a Junior Design Engineer to join their team. The role involves supporting the design and development of heavy-duty equipment and machinery attachments, producing 3D models and engineering drawings, and working closely with production teams. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on design experience and develop your engineering career within a supportive environment.The Junior Design Engineer role will involve:Producing and updating 3D CAD models and detailed manufacturing drawingsAssisting with the development of new engineered products and equipment solutionsTailoring existing designs to suit specific customer and project requirementsPreparing technical

information, parts lists, and design documentationCollaborating with manufacturing and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycleSupporting product enhancement initiatives and engineering change requestsReviewing designs to ensure they are practical, cost-effective, and suitable for productionThe Junior Design Engineer will need to have the following attributes:A degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in an engineering-related disciplineExperience using 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorksGood problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to communicate effectively and work as part of a teamA willingness to learn and develop within a manufacturing environmentCompetent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsDesirable Skills & ExperienceExposure to the design of fabricated steel products or structural componentsKnowledge of heavy equipment, machinery attachments, or related industrial sectorsAn understanding of common manufacturing techniques, including fabrication, welding, machining, and metal formingApplicationIf you are interested in this opportunity, please apply with an up-to-date CV along with your availability and salary expectations.
