Job description

Changing Technologies, Inc. (CTI) is hiring an Application Developer for a 9-month engagement with a State of Oklahoma government client in agricultural consumer protection. The client is replacing its legacy inspections program, scheduled to be decommissioned in spring 2027, with a new in-house Inspections application that lets field inspectors collect inspection data through online forms, save it to a SQL database, and generate and store PDF documents.

This role is built for a beginner to intermediate developer who is practiced with JavaScript and SQL. You will join the client’s existing development team and own a clearly scoped, high-visibility deliverable: turning the agency’s PDF inspection forms into a modern web application.

What You Will Do

  • Convert approximately seventy existing fillable PDF inspection documents into new interactive HTML forms used by department inspectors for data collection
  • Build the JavaScript functionality that saves inspector inputs to the SQL database
  • Use Jinja templates to compile saved inputs back into new PDF files
  • Provide JavaScript development support as needed to keep the Inspections application project on track
  • Work within the existing development team’s tools and workflow (Git/GitHub, Docker), with support from senior developers, * Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the assignment
  • CTI participates in E-Verify; employment eligibility for all hires is verified in compliance with applicable state and federal requirements, including Oklahoma’s Status Verification System
  • This is a W2 engagement only. We do not work with 1099 or Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangements, and third-party or agency submissions will not be considered

Why This Role

  • Clear scope and real impact: the forms you build will be used by state inspectors across Oklahoma
  • Practical, marketable stack: JavaScript, SQL, HTML/CSS, with hands-on exposure to Python, Docker, Jinja, and Git
  • Early-career friendly: beginner to intermediate experience is welcome, and the secondary tools can be learned on the job

  • Beginner to intermediate professional or academic experience in web or application development
  • JavaScript
  • SQL (T-SQL preferred; any SQL dialect is acceptable)

  • Duration: 9 months
