Job description

TISTA is seeking an Enterprise/Solution System Architect to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Supply Chain Management DevSecOps program. This Key Personnel role will lead enterprise and solution architecture across a portfolio of legacy applications, SaaS platforms, integration and data platforms, and cloud-hosted systems. The Enterprise/Solution System Architect will establish the architectural roadmap, integration strategy, and governance needed to support modernization, sustainment, cloud migration, and legacy system decommissioning. This role will collaborate with VA stakeholders and Agile delivery teams to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reusable, and aligned with enterprise standards.   • Lead enterprise and solution architecture across the product portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain architectural roadmaps, solution models, integration patterns, and reusable technical standards.
  • Design solutions spanning legacy applications, SaaS platforms, cloud environments, data platforms, APIs, and containerized workloads.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance for modernization, integration, cloud migration, and system decommissioning.
  • Develop architecture models, solution architecture packages, interface specifications, and technical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with VA stakeholders, Product Owners, cybersecurity teams, data architects, engineers, and Agile delivery teams.
  • Ensure solutions align with VA enterprise architecture, technical, security, accessibility, identity, and data requirements.
  • Provide architectural leadership and mentorship to architects, technical leads, and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of IT experience, including 6+ years as an enterprise or solution architect on large federal IT programs.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and governing enterprise integration and middleware architectures.
  • Experience architecting solutions across legacy applications, COTS/GOTS products, SaaS platforms, cloud environments, and containerized workloads.
  • Experience developing enterprise and solution architecture models using DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF, or comparable frameworks.
  • Experience with API management, event-driven integration, cloud architecture, data platforms, and legacy modernization.
  • Experience supporting SAFe Architectural Runways, architectural enablers, and PI Planning.

Experience with VA OIT, VHA, or federal health architecture, including familiarity with VA Enterprise Architecture and the VA Technical Reference Model, strongly preferred. Certifications:

  • SAFe Architect (ARCH) required.
  • TOGAF Certified, Version 9 or 10, or an equivalent enterprise architecture framework certification required., Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Clearance:

  • Tier 2 / Moderate Risk Background Investigation; ability to obtain a VA PIV credential.
