Job description

The IT Help Desk Specialist will serve as a first point of contact for employees experiencing technology issues. This role will provide hands-on support across Windows devices, Microsoft 365, user accounts, hardware, software, printers, networking, and remote connectivity. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting fundamentals, excellent customer service skills, and an interest in growing their career in IT support and systems administration., * Provide first-level technical support for employees through in-person, email, phone, collaboration tools, and ticketing channels.

  • Troubleshoot Windows, Microsoft 365, passwords, account lockouts, printers, peripherals, VPN, Wi-Fi, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including user account setup, access changes, and workstation preparation.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, software, and other workplace technology.
  • Manage support requests through the IT ticketing system, documenting troubleshooting steps and ensuring timely resolution or escalation.
  • Support Active Directory and cloud-based identity administration for routine user and access requests.
  • Maintain technology inventory, documentation, and internal knowledge resources.
  • Assist senior IT staff with software deployments, system testing, documentation, and company-wide technology projects.
  • Coordinate with technology vendors and escalate complex technical issues when appropriate.
  • Communicate technical solutions clearly and professionally to non-technical users.

Additional Details

  • Fully onsite
  • Standard schedule: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break
  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak business periods and month-end activities
  • Limited local travel may occasionally be required
  • Opportunity to gain experience across a broad Microsoft-focused IT environment and grow into more advanced technical responsibilities

Requirements

  • 1+ year of IT support, help desk, desktop support, technical support, or related experience or training.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common business productivity applications.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience or knowledge of Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and access management.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple support requests, prioritize effectively, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior IT team members.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, or other Microsoft cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote, or related collaboration platforms.
  • Experience using IT help desk or ticketing platforms.
  • Experience with remote support and troubleshooting tools.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security technologies such as BitLocker.
  • Experience supporting employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Interest in developing broader systems administration, cloud, networking, or cybersecurity skills.
