  • Provide ancillary support to security teams, learning how to conduct basic system security assessments to validate compliance.
  • Work with your team to follow established processes and assist in identifying areas for system optimization.

  • Must possess, or obtain within six months of hire, a DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CCNA Security).
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn endpoint management tools like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for basic application deployment and patch management.
  • Basic understanding of Windows updates and enterprise patch management concepts (exposure to WSUS is a plus).
  • Foundational knowledge of virtualization concepts; exposure to VMware vSphere/ESXi environments or basic VM provisioning is highly desired.
  • Experience supporting Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10/11) and a basic understanding of Windows Server environments, Active Directory fundamentals, and DNS.
  • Some Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (e.g., basic PowerShell or Bash).
  • Exposure to basic IT monitoring tools and log analysis.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in fast paced enterprise environments, and support large-scale infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, with the ability to break down problems, ask the right questions, and collaborate on solutions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document troubleshooting steps and solutions clearly.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Certificate Services / PKI Implementation to include deployment and management of Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), certificate enrollment, auto-enrollment, templates, and lifecycle management, understanding of SSL/TLS, CRLs, OCSP, and certificate-based authentication.
  • Ansible to include developing, maintaining, and optimizing Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management and automated deployments, troubleshooting automation failures and improving CI/CD workflow and implementing infrastructure-as-code best practices across Linux and Windows environments.
