Job description
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in DeWitt that are seeking skilled Embedded Systems Engineers. - Troubleshoot and debug existing embedded systems in a production environment.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate new sensors and actuators.
- Develop and execute test plans for new and updated firmware.
- Optimize embedded code for performance, reliability, and resource utilization.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing test fixtures and processes.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to system architecture decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS or Zephyr.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers/microprocessors (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, ESP32) and their peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, DAC).
- Demonstrated experience in hardware-software integration and debugging using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, CAN bus) is a plus., * Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) beyond basic scheduling, e.g., thread synchronization, memory management, inter-process communication.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, PROFINET) and their implementation in embedded systems.
- Demonstrated ability to debug and troubleshoot complex hardware/software interactions using tools like logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for test automation, data analysis, or build system integration.
