Network Engineer

Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in key management, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, cloud migration, optical infrastructure networking, virtual routing and forwarding, tactical networks, and SolarWinds, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security-related missions.

• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and secure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
• Experience developing and maintaining network documentation, including topologies, configurations, procedures, and runbooks
• Knowledge of TCP or IP stack, routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, or EIGRP, and switching technologies, including VLANs, STP, or port-channeling
• Ability to manage and optimize network monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure proactive identification and resolution of issues
• Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex network performance, connectivity, and security issues across LAN or WAN
• TS/SCI clearance
• HS diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification within 60 days of hire date

Nice If You Have:

• Experience in network automation using scripting languages, such as Python, and configuration management tools, such as Ansible or Terraform
• Experience with network security best practices and technologies, including Next-Generation Firewalls such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or Juniper SRX and VPN solutions
• Ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to pay strict attention to detail
• Possession of excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
