Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.\n
- Experience managing teams of engineers, including mentoring and fostering communication and collaboration across the team.\n
- Experience documenting logical and physical designs using drawing tools (e.g. Visio, Powerpoint, Gliffy, Cameo, MagicDraw) to depict systems, subsystems, interfaces, components, and communications of IT applications and infrastructure.\n
- Experience conducting site surveys or analyzing data obtained from site surveys.\n
- Experience creating or executing a migration plan to move circuits, network traffic, services, applications, or data between environments or to a commercial cloud provider.\n
- Significant experience upgrading and LCR of network devices.\n
- Expertise with common IT infrastructure networking in the areas of LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Proxies, Routing(L2/L3), and Firewalls.\n
- Experience working with two or more of the following network technologies: Cisco, Juniper, F5, Aruba, Palo Alto, Dell, Infoblox, Brocade, and Fortinet.\n
- Experience in designing and implementing medium to large network infrastructure and producing corresponding technical documentation.\n
- Able to work as part of a team to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.\n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n
- Experience presenting designs and plans to technical leadership personnel and boards for approvals.\n
- Current IAT Level II (or higher) Certification such as Security + or CISSP\n
- Must have an active DOD Secret clearance.\n

n The Network Discovery Lead will oversee a team of network engineers and analysts responsible for performing virtual and physical discovery of DAFA networks and associated analyses to establish a detailed network migration plan for each DAFA’s journey to the DoDNet environment.\n \n \nMust be willing to commute to Ft. Meade, MD 2 days per week and require an active DOD Secret clearance.\n \n \nPrimary Responsibilities:\n \n \n
- Manage multiple teams of engineers and analysts tasked with performing physical and virtual discovery of DAFA networks and analysis of collected data to establish a detailed plan for network migrations to DoDNet.\n
- Mentor network engineers while collaborating closely with the Network Engineering Lead and Project Managers to ensure alignment and team growth.\n
- Continuously seek process enhancements to streamline and accelerate network discovery, analysis, and planning.\n
- Plan and design secure network solutions to consolidate or migrate connectivity services under an enterprise service.\n
- Partner with key stakeholders and technical experts to perform legacy environment discovery, assessing current capabilities, configurations, and unique requirements to develop a design and architecture that uses standard design patterns.\n
- Design secure wide area connectivity inclusive of underlay, overlay, and COI transport design that supports performance, quality of service, security, and mission requirements.\n
- Provide secure access solutions leveraging wired and wireless technologies, integrating standards, use cases/scenarios, and develop associated implementation and transition plans.\n
- Integrate capacity planning and scaling of network and security stack environments into the overall design of solutions.\n
- Collect, investigate, and identify network optimization strategies and techniques to meet capacity and performance standards.\n
- Identify legacy service paths (i.e. dataflow, firewall rulesets, and ACLs) and develop strategies and designs for the to-be enterprise service capability to meet requirements while balancing security, sustainability, and maintainability.\n
- Support development of IP addressing schemes across IPv4 and IPv6 networks.\n
- Work with information assurance teams to ensure compliance to DoD standards to assist with providing accreditation artifacts.\n
