Job description

BTL is seeking an experienced Director of Salesforce Architecture & Integrations to lead the strategy, architecture and continued development of our Salesforce environment. This individual will serve as BTL’s senior technical authority for Salesforce and connected platforms supporting Marketing, Sales, Finance, Service and other commercial functions. The Director will ensure that data structures, workflows, automations, reporting, permissions, applications and integrations remain stable, scalable and aligned with business needs.

The role also provides technical leadership for Salesforce-connected applications including Commissionly, Digimind, Semrush and BombBomb; custom programs supporting processes such as vendor payments; and systems work required to launch new products, divisions and reporting initiatives. For applicable new products, the Director will support mapping modem-enabled devices into BTL’s Kanban utilization-reporting environment and help resolve device-mapping, transmission and reporting issues. Salesforce architecture and commercial-system integrations remain the primary focus of the position. This is a director-level individual-contributor role providing technical direction and mentorship to BTL’s system administrators while partnering with the Director of Marketing Operations & Systems on priorities, resources, testing, training and adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture, technical standards and long-term roadmap for BTL’s Salesforce environment.
  • Develop a deep understanding of BTL’s lead, account, opportunity, customer, product, vendor and reporting workflows.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions, including objects, fields, record types, flows, automations, permissions, reports and dashboards.
  • Identify and resolve fragile, conflicting, redundant or undocumented processes while protecting data quality and historical reporting.
  • Establish and maintain development, testing, release-management, rollback and change-control practices.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex Salesforce, integration, data and reporting issues.
  • Own technical governance for Salesforce applications, APIs, connectors and third-party platforms, including Commissionly, Digimind, Semrush and BombBomb.
  • Oversee custom-developed programs and specialized workflows, including vendor-payment and approval processes.
  • Evaluate whether business requirements are best addressed through native Salesforce functionality, AppExchange solutions, integrations or custom development.
  • Maintain documentation of critical applications, automations, integrations, data flows, service accounts and technical dependencies.
  • Establish consistent data definitions and reporting structures across products, divisions, territories and commercial teams.
  • Partner with leadership to deliver reliable reporting on leads, opportunities, sales, installations, active accounts, product utilization and other key performance indicators.
  • Serve as a technical partner in new product, division and commercial-program launches, ensuring Salesforce, connected platforms, permissions, routing, commissions and reporting are ready before launch.
  • Support onboarding of applicable modem-enabled products into BTL’s Kanban environment and troubleshoot issues spanning devices, connectivity, account mapping, Salesforce and utilization reporting.
  • Review architecture-sensitive work completed by internal administrators, consultants and developers.
  • Provide technical mentorship to system administrators and evaluate vendor recommendations, project scopes, licensing costs and technical performance.
  • Reduce dependence on individual employees or vendors through clear documentation, repeatable processes, knowledge transfer and business-continuity planning.

Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience with Salesforce, CRM architecture or enterprise commercial systems.
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of Salesforce administration and solution architecture, including Flow, automation, permissions, data models, reporting and dashboards.
  • Experience managing Salesforce integrations, AppExchange applications, APIs and custom-developed business programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business processes into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience supporting new-product, business-unit or commercial-program launches.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, system-to-system mapping, testing, release management and change control.
  • Ability to trace problems across multiple systems and determine where workflow, integration or reporting failures originate.
  • Experience managing Salesforce partners, developers, consultants and software vendors.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to business and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience providing technical direction to administrators or developers in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred:

  • Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Platform App Builder, Business Analyst, Data Architect,
  • Sharing and Visibility Architect or Integration Architect.
  • Experience with commission management, payment approvals or finance-related workflows.
  • Experience connecting marketing, analytics, communication and content platforms to Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with SQL, ETL processes, middleware or business-intelligence platforms.
  • Experience with connected devices, telemetry, IoT data or product-utilization reporting.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, aesthetics, wellness or another regulated industry., The successful candidate is a Salesforce expert who understands the broader commercial organization. This person is technically deep but commercially minded, comfortable moving between architecture and hands-on problem-solving, disciplined about documentation and testing, and confident evaluating recommendations from vendors and developers. Most importantly, this individual will build a Salesforce ecosystem that can reliably support BTL’s continued growth while reducing critical dependence on any one person or vendor.
