Job description
Responsible for data consolidation, analysis, and visualization through the generation of reports. Utilizes various technologies and software packages including generic SQL, MSSQL, mySQL, Sharepoint, Salesforce, Tableau to generate reports, visualizations, and metrics. Provides reporting support to marketing, retention, and management teams by collecting and analyzing data and reporting results. Familiar with a variety of the field’s standards, concepts, practices, and procedures. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Requires a bachelor’s degree.
Plays an active role in supporting the technical needs of LSU Digital and Continuing Education staff and programs. This position is responsible for managing and supporting the Digital and Continuing Education electronic reporting systems, as well as creation and support of all required reports on those systems. As a member of the Information Technology team, this full-time staff position reports to the IT Director and works closely with the staff within LSU Digital and Continuing Education.
Is responsible for maintaining a line of communication with management to ensure reporting needs are satisfied in a timely manner. Works to maintain accurate information regarding available reports and communicates that information in a digital format.
Assists all units within the LSU Department of Digital and Continuing Education with reports related to educational, marketing, and business processes. Initiates, implements, and provides reporting support for new projects in consultation with LSU Department of Digital and Continuing Education and other applicable units on campus. Other duties as assigned by Director.
Works with other analysts in the LSU Department of Continuing and Distance Education to complete reporting-related projects.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for designing, managing, and implementing electronic reports, including but not limited to financial, enrollment, demographic, marketing, course procedural and student course progress reports. (30%)
Responsible for maintenance and support of reporting systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Sharepoint, SQL Reporting Services, Jenzabar reporting, Moodle reporting, Salesforce reporting, and Tableau. (30%)
Responsible for creating and maintaining database tables, views, and stored procedures for back end report functionality. Programs that will be used are Windows 2012 servers in a VMWare virtual environment running Sharepoint, Moodle, MediaSite, Jenzabar, SQL, IIS web services, and AWS.(15%)
Responsible for migration of reports to other systems as needed, including but not limited to migration of Sharepoint/SQL Reporting Services reports to Moodle, Salesforce, and Tableau in conjunction with departmental initiatives. (15%)
Assist with development and maintenance of new and existing in-house applications, including but not limited to course evaluation web applications, archived data applications, data migration applications and supplemental database maintenance applications. (5%)
Other duties as assigned (5%), All candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain that valid work authorization throughout employment. Changes in laws, regulations, or government policies may impact the university’s ability to employ individuals in certain positions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 2 years of related experience. Proficiency in writing and understanding SQL, Tableau, and Salesforce report writing.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3 years of related experience. Proficiency in writing and understanding SQL, SQL Reporting Services, Sharepoint report writing, Tableau, Data Warehouses, and AWS.
Special or Physical Qualifications
Evening and weekend hours are sometimes required. Some travel may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license., Communication, Customer-Focused, Data Accuracy, Detail-Oriented, IT Quality Assurance, IT Troubleshooting, Policy Knowledge, Time Management
