Job description
The Senior SharePoint Developer / Application Engineer supports the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Internal Business Applications Support (IBAS) program. This hands-on role develops, integrates, enhances, and sustains SharePoint-based applications and workflow solutions supporting DISA mission and business operations.
The position is primarily focused on SharePoint development, workflow automation, application integration, and translating customer requirements into practical technical solutions. Candidates must be in the Fort Meade area, but remote work is expected on a regular basis with onsite as needed.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance SharePoint applications, sites, lists, libraries, forms, workflows, dashboards, and related components.
- Translate customer business and operational requirements into functional SharePoint solutions and automated workflows.
- Develop and maintain integrations between SharePoint and databases, APIs, enterprise applications, and other data sources.
- Configure and maintain permissions, access levels, groups, and information-management structures.
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing SharePoint applications, workflows, integrations, permissions, and data processes.
- Support application testing, change/configuration management, deployments, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle sustainment.
- Develop scripts or supporting software as needed to improve SharePoint applications and business processes.
- Maintain technical documentation and coordinate directly with Government customers and other technical teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong hands-on experience developing Microsoft SharePoint applications or business-process solutions.
- Experience with SharePoint lists, libraries, forms, workflows, dashboards, permissions, and integrations.
- Experience translating business requirements into working technical solutions.
- Experience with web or application development technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, C#, Python, PowerShell, or similar.
- Experience troubleshooting and modifying existing applications developed by other engineers.
- Understanding of software development, testing, change management, and application lifecycle support.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- DoD, DISA, or Federal Government experience.
- SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerShell, REST API, or Microsoft Graph experience.
- SQL Server or other relational database experience.
- Legacy SharePoint experience, including SharePoint 2013 and modernization or migration activities.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity, RMF, STIG, or application security requirements.
Certifications:
- An 8570/8140 Certification (Ex. Security+) is required.
Security Clearance:
- Active Secret clearance is required.
