Job description

We are looking for an experienced MacOS Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance native applications and system-level solutions for the macOS platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Swift and Objective-C, macOS frameworks, application development, debugging, and performance optimization.

The developer will work closely with product managers, engineers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance macOS applications., * Design and develop native macOS applications using Swift and Objective-C.

  • Build and maintain applications using AppKit, Foundation, SwiftUI, and other macOS frameworks.
  • Develop system-level utilities, services, and integrations for macOS.
  • Work with macOS APIs, frameworks, processes, services, and system architecture.
  • Implement application features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Analyze and resolve performance, stability, and memory-related issues.
  • Debug complex application and system-level problems using Xcode and Instruments.
  • Develop automated unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Ensure applications follow Apple security, privacy, and development guidelines.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, signing, and deploying macOS applications.
  • Document technical designs, implementation details, and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with macOS.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift and Objective-C.
  • Hands-on experience with Xcode and macOS development tools.
  • Strong knowledge of AppKit, Foundation, SwiftUI, and Cocoa APIs.
  • Experience with macOS application lifecycle, processes, threads, and system services.
  • Experience with debugging and profiling using Instruments.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns.
  • Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with macOS system extensions, launch agents/daemons, or background services.
  • Knowledge of macOS security mechanisms, sandboxing, entitlements, and code signing.
  • Experience with Apple Developer certificates, notarization, and application packaging.
  • Experience with REST APIs and client/server integrations.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ is a plus.
