Job description

  • Design, develop, test and deploy scalable, high-performance applications using Java, Spring Boot and Microservices.
  • Develop and maintain robust RESTful APIs and integrate them with enterprise applications.
  • Build and maintain event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming.
  • Design, implement and maintain cloud-based solutions using AWS, ensuring security, scalability and high availability.
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design to deployment and production support.
  • Develop and optimise database solutions using Oracle, SQL and relational database technologies.
  • Contribute to Java 17 upgrades, application modernisation and database migration initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Bitbucket, Maven and Gradle.
  • Work with Docker and Kubernetes for application containerisation and deployment.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues using Splunk, Dynatrace and Grafana.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka and AWS to join the engineering team at JP Morgan Chase Bank. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing and deploying scalable, secure and resilient enterprise applications, along with strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, cloud-based solutions and distributed systems.

The candidate should have hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle, including application design, development, testing, deployment and production support. Experience with retail banking, Java 17 upgrades and database migrations will be an added advantage., * Overall Experience: 10-15 years of experience in Java development and enterprise application engineering.

  • Core Java: Strong knowledge of Core Java, OOP concepts, Java Collections, exception handling and multithreading.
  • Spring Framework: Extensive hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC and other Spring Framework components.
  • Microservices: Proven experience in designing, developing and deploying microservices-based applications.
  • RESTful APIs: Extensive experience in designing, developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Apache Kafka: Strong experience with Kafka, event-driven architecture and real-time data streaming.
  • AWS: Practical experience developing, deploying and maintaining applications on AWS.
  • Databases: Strong experience with relational databases, particularly Oracle, and advanced SQL.
  • CI/CD: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git/Bitbucket and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
  • Containerisation: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Monitoring Tools: Exposure to Splunk, Dynatrace and Grafana for application monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Agile: Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Full Stack Development: Ability to contribute across application layers, including backend services and frontend integration., * AWS certification.
  • Experience working on retail banking or financial services projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Java 17 upgrades and application modernisation.
  • Experience with database migration and performance optimisation.
  • Experience developing enterprise-grade banking applications and distributed systems.

Key Technical Skills, The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in Java full stack development, with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka and AWS. They should have experience delivering enterprise-scale applications, working with relational databases, implementing CI/CD pipelines and supporting applications in production. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with global, cross-functional teams are essential.
