Job description

SAIC has an immediate opening for an experienced System Engineer to provide technical support to our exciting program, based in Chantilly. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including systems services administration, server provisioning, network integration, repository management, network-attached storage management, hardware administration, and document and compliance management.

Requirements

Candidates must have a TS/SCI and Poly in order to be considered for the position
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technology field, or equivalent industry experience
Experience in administering Linux systems
Expertise in configuring and administering Juniper and Cisco network devices
Proficiency in managing network infrastructure hardware, including KVM switches, terminal servers, etc.
Competency in setting up and managing virtualized environments such as VMWare and KVM
Knowledge in managing power and environmental network hardware, including UPS, Remote Power Control (RPC), and rack cooling systems
Skills in the configuration and administration of NAS devices, specifically QNAP and Synology

Desired Experience:

Juniper/Cisco Configuration administration experience
Experience with optical systems and testing hardware including OTDR, OSA, and power meters
Skills and experience in managing projects effectively
Master’s or PhD in Engineering or Technology

Benefits & conditions

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
