Job description

We are seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of software development experience, including experience within the Modeling, Simulation, and Training (MS&T) industry. This individual will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, integration, and maintenance of advanced simulation systems supporting defense, training, operational analysis, and mission rehearsal environments., Serve as a senior software engineer supporting modeling and simulation software development efforts. Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain complex simulation and training systems utilizing modern C++. Translate operational requirements and customer needs into scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. Contribute to software architecture and design decisions impacting performance, scalability, interoperability, and maintainability. Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, integration, and test teams throughout the development lifecycle. Participate in technical reviews, architecture assessments, code reviews, and design evaluations. Develop and maintain software supporting real-time, constructive, virtual, and live training environments. Troubleshoot complex software, performance, and integration issues and perform root cause analysis. Support system integration, verification, validation, and testing activities. Support customer engagements, technical interchange meetings, demonstrations, and field activities. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry standards to improve simulation capabilities and software performance. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other software engineers as needed. Travel up to 30%, primarily to Dothan, Alabama, to support customer engagements, testing, integration, demonstrations, and field activities. Technical Responsibilities Architect, develop, test, and maintain large-scale modeling and simulation applications using modern C++. Develop and optimize complex simulation models, behaviors, entity interactions, and synthetic environments. Implement multithreading, concurrency, and distributed processing solutions. Optimize software performance across CPU, GPU, networking, and memory subsystems. Design and develop interoperable simulation solutions leveraging industry standards including HLA, DIS, TENA, and related protocols. Support integration with training systems, command and control systems, hardware interfaces, and operational environments. Develop automated testing and validation capabilities to ensure software reliability and simulation fidelity. Conduct root cause analysis and resolution of complex software and integration issues. Support software modernization efforts and migration strategies for legacy simulation platforms. Develop and maintain software documentation, design specifications, and technical artifacts. Follow established software development standards, coding practices, and architecture guidelines. Support Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and modern software development practices.
