Senior Web Engineer

As a Senior Web Engineer, you will become part of one of our cross-functional feature teams. Your role will involve working towards bi-weekly goals in a Kanban-like manner, collaborating closely with teammates, including full-stack developers, a tester, and a product owner.

Your primary focus will be on the front end. You should be an expert in TypeScript and React.js, enjoy working with Next.js, and derive satisfaction from developing features and solutions for our customer-facing websites and CMS for our employees. You will be crucial in setting best practices and finding robust solutions for web challenges with the website teams. A comprehensive understanding of the entire platform and solid system design skills are essential.

We are looking for a Senior Web Engineer passionate about working with cutting-edge technologies on a large, high-traffic website. You should have a solid computer science background, with substantial experience in back-end development and infrastructure, yet possess a keen interest in front-end challenges. We value conceptual solid thinkers who take the initiative and are eager to make a significant impact within a scale-up environment., You are a quick learner. Our modern technology stack is up-to-date and runs on GCP, including TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, and an internal API layer utilizing Scala with ZIO. We dedicate 10% of our time to exploring new ideas to foster innovation and creativity. Requirements:

• Over five years of experience with TypeScript and React.js.
• Solid understanding of web challenges, including CDNs, networking, and cybersecurity.
• Proficient in DevOps practices, with Terraform experience on cloud platforms like GCP.
• Backend development experience preferably on the JVM or .NET platforms.
• A master’s degree in computer science.

We consider it a plus if you have experience with the following:

• You have worked on high-traffic consumer websites.
• You are passionate about and have experience with test automation.
• You have experience in the travel domain.
• Open-Source contributions are important to you.
