A/V Design Engineer

of a project contractCreate equipment specifications and bill of materials budgets for cost estimating and purchasingWrite testing, verification, and commissioning plans and other documents per contract requirements Perform site visits to review installation standards, assist in system testing, verification, commissioning, system programming, system turn on and client trainingEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or another related field - preferred3-8 years’ experience in AV Design or IntegrationAVIXA CTS or CTS-D certification preferredKnowledge of AutoCAD required, and REVIT preferredOSHA 10 or 30 hour preferredCOMPENTENCIES:Understanding in design, principle, and operation of Audio and Video systemsAbility to create system drawings, material lists, and documents that support the proposal, design, integration, and commissioning phases of a projectUnderstanding of basic network topology and protocols, including V-LAN’s, QOS, Multicast, Unicast, and network terminologyExperience in Microsoft Office programsAbility to communicate effectively in person and over the phone internally and externallyAbility to work on and navigate a construction siteAbility to apply critical thinking and have a flexible schedule as needed to serve the client’s needsOTHER REQUIREMENTS:May require 20-30% travel.
