Job description

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of new capabilities for the Artemis platform, leveraging full stack engineering and AI technologies to transform ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions. This role partners closely with technical and business stakeholders to solve complex challenges, establish engineering best practices, drive modern software delivery through CI/CD, and ensure AI-enabled capabilities are secure, reliable, and compliant. As a senior technical leader, you will influence the platform’s architecture, mentor development teams, and help shape the future of one of Caterpillar Financial’s most visible technology transformation initiatives., * Lead proof-of-concept and development work for new capabilities, and partner with the Team Leader and development team to take them into production
  • Design and build full stack features across React/TypeScript front ends, Python or Node.js services and APIs, and AWS cloud services
  • Drive UI/UX and front-end architecture decisions so Artemis stays intuitive, consistent, and easy to use as it grows
  • Build AI-enabled capabilities and agent-based workflows, including prompt and context design, evaluation, and guardrails that keep them safe and reliable
  • Design and build integrations with enterprise systems such as Snowflake, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, and GitHub
  • Establish reusable patterns, coding standards, and shared components for the platform
  • Write and maintain automated tests, and help build the test coverage and pipeline practices that move the team toward CI/CD
  • Support production deployments, and provide production support as needed: troubleshoot complex issues, lead root-cause analysis, and drive lasting fixes
  • Review pull requests in GitHub and mentor developers, reducing key-person dependency and building depth across the team
  • Work with architecture and security partners to test emerging technologies, guide their implementation, and ensure solutions meet Cat Financial’s standards and audit requirements
  • Demo new capabilities to stakeholders and turn their feedback into clear technical next steps

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including building and supporting production applications
  • Strong front-end experience with React and TypeScript
  • Strong back-end experience building services and APIs in Python or Node.js
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (for example serverless compute, API management, storage, and managed AI services)
  • Experience building integrations with enterprise systems (for example Snowflake, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, GitHub)
  • Experience working with relational databases and REST APIs
  • Proficiency with GitHub-based workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code review
  • Hands-on experience building applications with generative AI, such as working with large language models, agent-based workflows, retrieval, and evaluation
  • A track record of turning prototypes into production-ready, maintainable solutions
  • Experience writing automated tests and supporting release and deployment processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through ambiguous problems
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences, * Experience delivering AI agents or LLM-based solutions in production
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries (SOX, audit, IT risk)
  • Experience setting architecture patterns, coding standards, or reusable components for a team or platform
  • Experience mentoring developers or serving as technical lead for a development team
  • Experience building automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience designing component libraries or shared UI frameworks
  • Understanding of secure application development practices
  • Experience with workflow, low-code, or process automation platforms
  • Experience with Agile delivery and Azure DevOps, * Proofs of concept are proven quickly and delivered to production with the team
  • Established patterns and standards are adopted across the platform
  • AI capabilities deliver measurable improvements to delivery workflows
  • Automated test coverage grows, moving the team closer to CI/CD
  • Platform knowledge is shared, reducing key-person dependency, * A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience is required.
