Job description

  • Design, implement, configure, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure, platforms, applications, data, and services
  • Manage and monitor cloud computing resources to ensure optimal performance, availability, reliability, and interaction between applications and services
  • Leverage major commercial cloud provider technologies and private cloud platforms to support enterprise and federal environments
  • Design and implement scalable and resilient cloud architectures aligned with application and infrastructure requirements
  • Support the ongoing operation and optimization of cloud-based applications, services, and infrastructure
  • Design, implement, and maintain High Availability (HA) solutions for critical applications and cloud services
  • Design, implement, and test Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions to support business and mission continuity
  • Develop cloud architectures that address availability, resiliency, scalability, performance, and recoverability requirements
  • Support virtualization technologies and virtualized infrastructure within cloud and enterprise environments
  • Monitor cloud environments and identify performance, availability, capacity, and reliability issues
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, application, and service issues and support root cause analysis and resolution
  • Work with cloud management and monitoring tools to maintain visibility into infrastructure, applications, data, and services
  • Integrate cloud-based applications and services using Web Services, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and REST services
  • Design and support RESTful API integrations between cloud services, applications, and enterprise systems
  • Evaluate cloud services and technologies to identify opportunities for improved performance, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Support cloud migrations, modernization efforts, and integration of existing enterprise services with cloud environments
  • Collaborate with software engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, and operations teams to develop and implement cloud solutions
  • Develop technical designs, architecture documentation, implementation plans, and operational procedures
  • Support cloud infrastructure lifecycle management, including implementation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and optimization
  • Assist with the development and implementation of cloud standards, architecture patterns, and technical best practices
  • Ensure cloud solutions appropriately support federal security, compliance, and operational requirements
  • Work with FedRAMP-approved commercial cloud providers and cloud environments supporting federal customers
  • Analyze system and application dependencies to identify potential availability, performance, and disaster recovery risks
  • Participate in technical planning, architecture reviews, design discussions, and implementation activities
  • Provide technical guidance on cloud infrastructure, virtualization, HA/DR, and cloud service integration

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience with virtualization and cloud technologies and platforms
  • 3+ years of experience implementing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing technologies, platforms, and infrastructure
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting cloud-based solutions
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and virtualized infrastructure
  • Experience developing or implementing highly available and resilient infrastructure solutions
  • Experience developing or implementing Disaster Recovery solutions
  • Experience working with Web Services, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and Representational State Transfer (REST) services
  • Experience integrating cloud applications, services, and infrastructure through APIs and REST-based services
  • Experience with cloud management and monitoring technologies
  • Experience supporting enterprise or federal cloud environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and service issues
  • Ability to develop technical documentation, architecture designs, implementation plans, and operational procedures
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, infrastructure, application, and operations teams
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • CompTIA Cloud+ certification or ability to meet the applicable IAM I certification requirement

Preferred Qualifications of the Senior Cloud Architect include:

  • Experience supporting federal government or Department of Defense (DoD) cloud environments
  • Experience with FedRAMP requirements and FedRAMP-approved cloud services
  • Experience with major commercial cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience supporting private cloud environments
  • Experience with cloud architecture and enterprise infrastructure design
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale High Availability (HA) architectures
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures
  • Experience with cloud migration and modernization initiatives
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure monitoring, performance management, and optimization
  • Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure as code
  • Experience with containerized applications and orchestration technologies
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or similar container technologies
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar infrastructure automation tools
  • Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and web services
  • Experience with cloud-native application architectures and distributed systems
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and automated cloud infrastructure deployment
  • Experience supporting cloud security, compliance, and authorization requirements in federal environments
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and automated provisioning
  • Experience developing cloud architecture diagrams, technical designs, and implementation roadmaps
  • Experience supporting enterprise application and infrastructure modernization
