Requirements

The Database Administrator will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of database systems implemented in support of AAO applications. The AAO database infrastructure consists of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL platforms. Responsibilities:Demonstrates solid knowledge in database design, development and integration principlesFundamental knowledge of database administration best practices and techniquesExperience supporting mission critical database management systemsUnderstanding of ANSI Standard SQL constructs for Database AdministrationExperience installing, configuring, upgrading, migrating, provisioning, securing, patching, backing up and recovery of enterprise database systemsConceptual knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architecturesGood understanding of networking concepts and principles in a client/server database environmentExperience in Unix, PowerShell or other scripting languageMust have good communication, presentation, documentation and organizational skillsEffectively works in a team environment with other DBAs to troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems; demonstrates strong interpersonal skillsExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to work comfortably in a fast-paced environmentSchedule flexibility is required to support on-call DBA rotation and the ability to respond to trouble tickets within time required by SLAs Required:Bachelors degree and 6+ years of experience (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree)US Citizenship and the ability to obtain the relevant clearance are required6-8 years Database Administrator experiencePreferred experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL databases in single instance or clustered configurationsExperience configuring and supporting MS SQL Availability Groups (AGs), Distributed Availability Groups (DAGs), Oracle Data Guard, and MySQL master-slave replicationDemonstrated experience using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, MS T-SQLExperience with client tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, MS SQL Workbench, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) are a plusKnowledgeable in configuring Oracle Net ServicesExperience in client/server applications design and development is a plusFamiliarity and/or experience with Oracle RMAN, DataPump, and Data GuardExperience with Red Hat Linux and MS Windows Operating Systems on VMwareUnderstanding of database consolidation and virtualization concepts and best practices
