Job description
AeroVironment is seeking a Software/System Analyst to support the analysis, integration, testing, and validation of complex software and hardware systems. This role works within cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate system performance, develop and execute test activities, analyze results, identify issues, and communicate technical findings.
The Software/System Analyst applies engineering knowledge to support system integration and verification activities across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and operational test environments. This requires the ability to independently analyze technical data, identify system issues, and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Position Responsibilities

Analyze software and system functionality against technical requirements, system interfaces, and defined capabilities.

Support the development of test cases, test procedures, and test scenarios for software and integrated systems.

Prepare test data, stimuli, and configurations needed to support system verification and validation.

Execute and support software, system integration, simulation, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Analyze test data, identify trends and discrepancies, and develop technically sound conclusions and recommendations.

Investigate system defects and limitations, document findings, and track issues through resolution.

Review technical analysis performed by other team members and reconcile discrepancies.

Support integration of evolving software builds, system components, sensors, and other interfaces.

Develop technical reports, presentations, and briefings to communicate test results, system performance, risks, and recommendations to engineering leadership and stakeholders.

Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, test, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.

Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis, test, and integration processes., * This position is primarily performed in an office and laboratory environment during standard business hours.

Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to support testing or program activities.
Requirements
-
Bachelorās degree in computer science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.

8+ years of experience in software analysis, systems engineering, integration, testing, or simulation.

Ability to analyze technical data, support testing, and communicate findings.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
-
Strong communication skills including written, verbal, and technical presentation.
-
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
-
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of War security clearance, as required.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other scripting/programming languages.

Experience with software or systems integration, simulation, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Experience with defense, aerospace, radar, command-and-control, sensor, or weapons systems.
-
Experience analyzing complex system interfaces and system-of-systems architectures.
-
Military or operational experience with air and missile defense systems.
-
Experience with Patriot, THAAD, Sentinel, IBCS, Aegis, LTAMDS, IFPC, or related systems.

Experience presenting technical findings, system risks, or recommendations to senior engineering or program leadership.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities.

Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 10%., This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (āITARā) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (āEARā). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on AeroVironmentās determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with AeroVironmentās business requirements. A āU.S. personā according to the ITAR definition is a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), or protected individual such as a refugee or asylee. See 22 CFR § 120.15. Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract, U.S. Citizenship is required. Secret or Top Secret clearance, or the ability obtain a clearance is desired.
