Job description

  • Troubleshoot and resolve A/V issues in a variety of learning environments.
  • Respond to customer requests through ticketing and phone systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repair of instructional technology equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of new hardware and software in classrooms and labs.
  • Test equipment for functionality and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Provide training sessions or one-on-one support to faculty and staff on effectively using instructional technology.
  • Maintain records of equipment inventory and service logs.
  • Document recurring issues and solutions to improve future response times.
  • Actively research new solutions, techniques, and products available, while evaluating the current technology in classrooms.

Requirements

The primary purpose of the Instructional Technology Professional II position is to provide comprehensive technology support, including A/V maintenance and troubleshooting across various learning environments at Phoenix Area Locations. The role involves assessing and resolving technical issues, consulting faculty, staff, and students, and ensuring efficient service delivery. Ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, broad knowledge of A/V systems, and ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment. The candidate will be expected to maintain positive professional relationships with a variety of groups across the University and adapt to the evolving needs of the campus., * Knowledge of the installation, updating and troubleshooting of classroom instructional technology and computer systems.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair broken A/V, computer and network equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer networking, audio and video equipment.
  • Ability to be flexible to the rapidly changing needs of the department and the university.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to drive a golf cart.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders.
  • Reliable transportation., * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with troubleshooting Crestron and/or Extron control systems.
  • Experience in a customer service environment with an emphasis on resolving audio/visual and other classroom technology problems.

Benefits & conditions

This position is based out of Phoenix Bioscience Core HSEB building with regular travel to Scottsdale and occasional travel to other locations including Chandler and Gilbert.

The successful candidate is required to obtain (if not already obtained) Crestron CTI-Commercial Technician and Extron AV Associate Certifications, AVIXA CTS, and Dante Level III certification within 12 months of employment.
