Job description

Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Engineer Level 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL. Essential Functions: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Extensive experience with embedded software development and low level software to hardware interfaces
  • Extensive experience with Embedded software development
  • Experience using NUnit
  • Experience with Moq
  • Experience developing software in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge of SysUML
  • Familiarity with Atlassian and Agile software development practices.
  • Experience with Java, C++, C# and object-oriented SW development.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages
  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start, * Experience with automated software requirements testing and analysis
  • Experience with gRPC
  • Experience with CMake
  • Security+ certification
  • Prior experience with the MDA GMD program.
  • Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
  • A current active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance

#SpaceSoftwareJobs Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
