Airborne Platform Software Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience\n
• 7-12 years of software development experience, preferably in a Linux or embedded systems environment\n
• Understanding of Linux networking including routing, iptables, DHCP, and DNS\n

\n \nRequired Skills, Experience and Talents\n \n \n

• Strong application development skills in Linux environments utilizing Python and/or Linux scripting languages, C/C++, and possibly Go\n
• Experience as a Software Engineer developing software and utilizing open source packages in data communications and/or telecommunications systems\n
• Skilled in Jenkins automation build and test environment\n
• Relevant software configuration management and tools skills using Git\n
• Knowledge of Linux container concepts, especially Docker related\n

\n \nPreferred Skills, Experience and Talents\n \n \n

• Experience with 802.11ac wireless networking\n
• Understanding of traffic shaping and QoS\n
• Has worked with the Agile software development methodology and SAFe framework\n
• Avionics and ARINC protocols knowledge\n
• Working knowledge of the DO-178C certification process\n
• Satellite communication experience\n

As a Gogo \nSenior Airborne Platform Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing production quality software for Gogo airborne products on a Linux platform. You will develop new features, enhance existing software components, and test feature functionality on both existing products and our Next Generation 5G Air to Ground solution. • Design and develop software features for new products or extend design of existing products, including selection and integration of third-party technologies, particularly open source\n
• Create high and low-level design documentation\n
• Conduct design reviews and participate in code inspections\n
• Assist in development of automated unit tests\n
• Provide estimates for design and feature development\n
• Track project stories/tasks, provide status, and ensure stories/tasks are completed on schedule\n
• Continually improve design, development, and test processes\n
