Job description

  • Lead and facilitate all core scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, for multiple agile teams.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain multiple Jira boards to accurately reflect team workflows, priorities, and progress across embedded software projects.
  • Create, track, and refine agile metrics and dashboards in Jira to provide clear visibility into team performance, sprint health, and delivery timelines.
  • Support embedded software development teams working on space-based systems by removing impediments, coordinating dependencies, and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with software developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to refine backlogs, clarify requirements, and align on sprint goals.
  • Promote and coach agile and scrum methodology across teams, encouraging best practices, transparency, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Document and communicate process changes, team agreements, and workflow improvements to ensure consistency and shared understanding.
  • Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, presentations, and documentation that summarize progress, metrics, and key insights for stakeholders.
  • Ensure that agile practices support the unique needs of embedded software development and space-based systems, including integration, testing, and reliability requirements., This role operates in a fast-moving, highly technical environment focused on infrared development and space-based embedded software systems. You will work closely with engineering and software teams using Jira and Microsoft Office as core tools for planning, tracking, and reporting. The environment emphasizes rapid iteration, collaboration, and continuous improvement to support multiple space flight programs. Work is primarily office- and lab-based, with a strong focus on technical excellence, disciplined processes, and timely delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Scrum Master or in a similar agile leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with agile methodologies and scrum practices in a software development environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Jira, including configuring and managing multiple boards and workflows.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and interpreting agile metrics and dashboards.
  • Background in supporting embedded software development projects.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in software development, agile project delivery, or a closely related area.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced technical environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Agile or Scrum Master certification preferred.
  • Experience working on space-based or aerospace-related software projects is highly beneficial.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills to guide teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt agile practices to the constraints and needs of embedded software development.
  • Interest in contributing to high-impact space flight programs and advanced infrared technologies.

This is a Contract position based out of Cypress, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
