Job description

advancing our understanding of continental surface processes and their interactions with climate and human activities. CESBIO scientists make extensive use of remote sensing technologies to monitor environmental changes across spatial and temporal scales and to develop models that address key societal challenges related to climate change, food security, and water resources. The laboratory also plays a central role in the development and promotion of Earth Observation, contributing to the design, implementation, and scientific exploitation of numerous satellite missions. CESBIO is a Joint Research Unit bringing together the CNES, CNRS, IRD, INRAe and the University of Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier.,

The passive radiometry group of the Physics of Remote Sensing team at CESBIO offers a research engineer position in machine learning applied to remote sensing. In particular, the candidate should develop statistical inversion algorithms for image reconstruction of micro-wave antennas arrays working in different acquisition modes such as interferometry for aperture synthesis or beamforming. The work will be done in collaboration with Centre Borelli (École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay) in the context of preparatory studies of the FRESCH (Fine Resolution Explorer for Salinity Carbon and Hydrology) satellite mission concept submitted to the European Space Agency (ESA) Earth Explorers program., CESBIO is identified as a security restrictive zone (ZRR) laboratory. Candidate is required to follow a authorization process to be granted access. He will also required to follow closely the security guidance rules once recruited.
