Mainframe Developer IV

Join BNY as a Mainframe Developer IV and play a pivotal role in modernizing and enhancing our Automated Cash Management platform within a dynamic financial services environment. You’ll work hands-on with cutting-edge and legacy technologies, supporting mission-critical batch processes while driving innovation through modernization initiatives. Collaborate with global teams and leverage your expertise to make a tangible impact on the business., Design, develop, test, and implement enhancements on the Automated Cash Management platform

• Build and maintain mainframe applications leveraging COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS
• Modernize legacy applications by migrating components to Java and integrating Oracle Database solutions
• Troubleshoot, support, and optimize batch processes using Control-M and related scheduling tools
• Conduct root-cause analysis to resolve production issues promptly
• Collaborate effectively with product, business, support, and offshore development teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, cloud adoption, API enablement, and hybrid-integration initiatives
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer across global teams

7+ years of hands-on mainframe development experience

• Deep expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS
• Strong batch processing skills with Control-M and file-based data flows
• Proficient with source control and DevOps tools such as Endevor and GitLab
• Experience with production support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
• Familiarity with message queuing, data processing, and online transaction processing
• Proficiency in Java and Oracle Database a plus

Preferred Skills

• Experience with modernization: API enablement, data virtualization, cloud-hybrid integration
• Knowledge of MQ Series, Easytrieve, REXX, CI/CD, and AI code assist tools, · Develop test and implement enhancements for the Automated Cash Management platform · Build and maintain applications using COBOL JCL DB2 VSAM and CICS · Modernize Legacy Applications to Java · Oracle Database · Support and troubleshoot batch processes using Control-M and related scheduling tools · Resolve production issues and perform root-cause analysis · Partner with product Business Support and offshore development teams · Contribute to CI/CD Cloud API and hybrid-integration modernization initiativesMaintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer across global teams
