Job description

As a Software Engineer - Test & Verification, you will drive the evolution of ground-to-space operations, ensuring robust, scalable, and resilient software systems for space and defense applications. Responsibilities

  • Redesign and enhance reference programs for operational rigor and reliability
  • Architect real-time, mission-critical ground systems supporting continuous operations
  • Design integrated solutions for mission planning, real-time visualization, and system optimization
  • Define and implement comprehensive verification strategies for complex ground systems
  • Validate software, database, and mission system interactions for seamless integration
  • Lead developmental testing through system evolution, ensuring quality at every stage
  • Identify and mitigate risks early, influencing key design and technical decisions
  • Collaborate closely with systems engineering, mission systems, and CEIT teams to drive project success

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering for mission-critical or operational environments
  • Proven experience transitioning systems from prototype to full-scale operations
  • Demonstrated leadership in test and verification for large-scale mission systems
  • Deep knowledge of ground systems, space or defense environments, and real-time system design
  • Strong background in engineering design and system integration
  • Expertise in ground-to-space or space-to-ground interface development
  • Willingness and eligibility to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript frameworks such as REACT
  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including configuration management and architecture
  • Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and DevSecOps methodologies
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
