Job description
- Administer Azure and AWS environments and lead cloud migration and build projects.
- Design secure, resilient cloud architectures, security baselines, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Design, deploy, and manage full-stack on-site networks, including firewalls and security appliances, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, and SD-WAN, using platforms such as Cisco Meraki and Fortinet FortiGate.
- Build and support Windows Server and Linux servers on premises and in the cloud.
- Deploy and manage AI services, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Gemini for Google Workspace, Azure OpenAI, Anthropics Claude, and Amazon Bedrock, and help clients govern them safely.
- Administer Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to an advanced level, including migrations and security hardening.
- Design and manage identity providers, SSO, MFA, MDM, ZTNA, and VPN across Apple, Windows, ChromeOS, and Android devices.
- Support security incident response, write clear documentation, and coach other engineers.
- Take third-line escalations and serve as our senior technical authority for cloud, network, identity, and AI infrastructure.
- Help our Technical Account Managers design solutions during pre-sales and lead projects from scoping through handover.
- Work regularly at client premises across the UK and, when needed, travel internationally to support clients.

Requirements
- Demonstrable senior-level, customer-facing infrastructure engineering experience, ideally within a managed service provider.
- Advanced hands-on knowledge of Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, networking and network security, Windows Server, and Linux.
- Advanced knowledge of identity providers, SaaS, PaaS, MDM, ZTNA, and VPN.
- Practical experience deploying AI services and understanding of related governance, data protection, and security risks.
- Microsoft Azure or AWS certification at Associate level or higher, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification, such as Fortinet FCP, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Advanced cyber security experience, skills, and training.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical people.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one for possible international client travel.
- Right to work in the UK; we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
- Ability to commute to or relocate before starting work at our Leicester LE4 location.
- IT support experience: 10 years (required).
- Azure experience: 5 years (required).
- AWS experience: 5 years (required).
- AI governance experience: 2 years (required).
- Advanced networking experience: 5 years (required).
- Desirable: current UK security clearance, such as SC or DV.
- Desirable: experience supporting Apple-dominant environments and Jamf, Apple, Okta, or JumpCloud certifications.
- Desirable: expert-level Azure or AWS certifications.
- Desirable: an AI governance qualification, such as ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer or IAPP AIGP.
- Desirable: experience working within an ISO/IEC 27001 information security management system.
- Desirable: infrastructure-as-code experience, such as Bicep, Terraform, or CloudFormation.

Our technology environments include Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, JumpCloud, Okta, Rippling, Jamf, Cisco Meraki, Fortinet FortiGate, and a range of security and cloud platforms. This is a full-time, permanent, office-based Senior Infrastructure Engineer role aligned to SFIA 9 Level 5; it is not remote or home-based. Hours are 40 per week in scheduled eight-hour shifts between 08:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday, with occasional out-of-hours work for planned changes, project cutovers, and urgent incidents. Client work may involve early starts, late finishes, overnight stays, and international travel. Business mileage is reimbursed, and flexible working can be requested from the first day. Salary is £50,400-£55,200 per year, discussed at screening.
