Remote BI Developer (Power BI)

You’ll own the BI layer of client projects - from understanding business requirements and defining metrics to modeling data in Power BI and shipping executive and operational dashboards.

You’ll work directly with CFOs, COOs, and other business leaders to understand how their business works, translate ambiguous questions into clear reporting requirements, and build analytics that help them make better decisions.

This is not a ticket-queue reporting role. You’ll be expected to understand the business problem, challenge unclear requirements, validate the numbers, and own the quality of what gets delivered.

What you´ll do Build executive and operational dashboards in Power BI Design robust Power BI semantic models and dimensional data models Write DAX measures and SQL to support reporting and analysis Translate business requirements into clear KPIs, metrics, and reporting logic Work with financial and operational data from ERP, CRM, accounting, project management, and other business systems Validate data and reconcile reporting against source systems Work directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements, explain results, and iterate on solutions Improve dashboard usability, performance, and maintainability Collaborate with Analytics Engineers working on warehouses, pipelines, dbt models, and semantic layers Manage multiple client projects and keep them moving

3+ years of experience in BI development, data analytics, or a similar role Strong hands-on Power BI experience Strong DAX, including experience building non-trivial measures and KPI logic Strong SQL Experience designing data models for BI, including dimensional/star-schema modeling Ability to turn messy business requirements into clear, useful dashboards Experience working with financial and operational business data Good understanding of metrics such as revenue, gross margin, profitability, utilization, project/job performance, and variance analysis Strong attention to detail and ability to validate that numbers are correct Clear written and spoken English. You´ll be client-facing. Ownership. You ship without being chased.

Nice to have Experience with dbt Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Fabric, Databricks, or similar Power BI Service, deployment pipelines, RLS, performance optimization, and governance experience Experience with systems like NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, ServiceTitan, or Procore Experience working with LLMs or AI analytics on top of structured data Background in consulting or agency work Python
