Job description

car allocated race- and performance-engineer. Oversee the operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of vehicle control systems, mainly data acquisition and control systems units, but also including energy and power management, powertrain hybrid systems and braking systems Real-time monitoring of all car’s vital systems during all on-track sessions, identifying and mitigating technical risks to ensure maximum car availability Provide race strategy support to Race Engineer with fuel and energy tracking and optimization Work collaboratively with vehicle dynamics, tires, systems, and simulation teams to validate tools and models Prepare detailed pre- and post-event reports highlighting key systems insights. Assist in developing automated tools for data processing and visualization. Assist in set-up, maintaining and pack down of trackside equipment such as telemetry, radio and IT Support rig tests, dyno work, and simulator sessions as required. Requirements

BoP (Balance of Performance) limitations. Be responsible for systems-related tasks assigned by WRT LMDh Chief Engineer. Work with global BMW and WRT engineering groups to maintain, develop and update any Engineering and analysis tools and software. The Systems Engineer should have the following desired skillset: Degree in Motorsport Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. 3+ years proven experience in high-level motorsport environment (LMDh/GTP, Hypercar, GT3, F1, F2 or equivalent formulae). Strong proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, ATLAS/MoTeC, Excel). Proficiency with CAN bus protocols, telemetry systems, and electronic control unit (ECU) architecture. Preferably, familiarity with hybrid powertrain architectures and energy management systems Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, high-stakes environments with tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with drivers and technical teams. Flexibility to travel extensively, including weekends and long hours at race and test events.
